Get a rough idea of the cost

Every project begins with a consultation by phone, email or in person to discuss your objectives, requirements and scope. A detailed quotation is then provided, setting out the proposed services and associated costs. Once accepted in writing, the quotation forms the basis of the project. If requirements change after acceptance, any resulting changes to the cost will be discussed and agreed in advance.

Over the years, listening to client feedback has shaped how these packages are structured. For projects with a clearly defined scope, such as photography or podcast production, a set fee agreed upfront tends to be preferred, giving budget certainty from the outset. A fixed fee is also available for video projects where the brief is well-defined, get in touch to discuss.

Below is a calculator for a properly produced corporate video with substantial post-production – this is quite different to a project, for example event filming, where footage is simply handed over without being edited.

Retained support

For businesses with ongoing content needs rather than a single project, retained support offers continuous access with priority scheduling and preferential rates compared to booking each piece of work separately. It suits organisations and teams that need regular updates, social content or a steady series of productions, and keeps a brand’s media presence consistent over time rather than reactive.

  • An initial term of three, six, nine or twelve months, chosen to suit your content strategy
  • Automatic renewal on a rolling basis once the initial term ends
  • A 30-day written notice to end the arrangement at any term

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A fixed fee suits a clearly defined project, a corporate video or a set of promotional photography, where budget certainty matters most. An hourly rate suits smaller or evolving work where the scope may shift. Retained support suits ongoing content needs rather than a single project. A quick conversation is usually enough to work out which fits.

Yes, changes can be accommodated by mutual agreement. Under a fixed fee, a change in scope may affect the price, and a revised quotation will always be provided in writing before any extra work begins.

Pricing is designed to be transparent, but additional costs can arise from specific requirements, such as licensed music, a separate voice artist, or aerial footage. Anything like this is always agreed and confirmed in writing before proceeding. Mileage is charged at 55p per mile after the first 20 miles of a journey to a project. The first 20 miles are covered.

Get in touch for a consultation to discuss your ongoing content needs. A tailored quotation follows, and a formal contract is established once accepted in writing, on an initial term of three, six, nine or twelve months.

A 30-day written notice at the end of any term is all that’s required, giving both sides time to prepare for the transition.

Fixed fee projects are typically 50% deposit on acceptance, 50% on completion. Hourly, half day and full day work is invoiced as agreed at the outset.

It varies with project complexity, but as a general guide, editing is budgeted at roughly four hours for every hour shot.
