The brief

Equestrian Moving Memories, a Kings Langley based startup from the founding team behind Classfoto, commissioned a promotional video to spread the word about their latest product, photographs that spring to life via a QR code embedded in acrylic blocks and canvas.

The challenge was genuinely conceptual, explaining a product that only really makes sense once you see it in action.

The finished film needed to work as the primary way a growing network of professional photographers nationwide would first understand the product.

The approach

  • Exactly what makes a photograph “spring to life” via QR code
  • Why this genuinely appealed to a network of professional photographers
  • The practical uses, from acrylic blocks to canvas prints
  • Why this startup was worth watching as it grew

Production

  • Filming the physical product itself, the acrylic blocks and canvas prints the technology is embedded in
  • Demonstrating the QR code scan and transformation from still image to moving memory
  • Working closely with a founding team full of imaginative ideas about how the product should be presented
  • Structuring the film to appeal to both end customers and the professional photographer network
  • Editing to a pace that kept a genuinely novel concept clear rather than overwhelming

The result

Why this project worked

This project shows what video does best for a genuinely novel product, making an abstract idea instantly understandable in a way no product description ever could.
